Outside of the South Bay, communities in the Long Beach area have a total of 308 cases.

Numbers for Long Beach are provided by that city’s health department. Other numbers are from LA County.

There could be more cases in any of these areas. The county is still investigating 505 possible COVID-19 cases and hasn’t yet released information on where those patients live in the county.

And due to the limited availability of COVID-19 tests, officials have said there are many more people infected with the novel coronavirus than are represented in these numbers.

As of noon Thursday across Los Angeles County, the health departments of LA County and the cities of Pasadena and Long Beach have recorded 4,071 confirmed cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

Of the 4,071 patients with positive COVID-19 tests, 879 have been hospitalized.

There have been 79 deaths in the county due to the virus.
