Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District
The Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District serves all four of the Peninsula cities, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills & Rolling Hills Estates. The student enrollment at this time is approximately 11,500 students. The Palos Verdes Peninsula school system consists of 2 early childhood education centers, 3 intermediate schools,10 elementary schools, 2 high schools and 1 continuation school.
The school district’s reputation for having a high quality education system attracts many families to this suburban area. PVPUSD schools continue to be recognized for outstanding achievement at the local, state and national level. Much of the designations are due to the parent and community involvement within the school system.
Like schools in other areas, in order to meet the challenges of keeping teachers, counselors, librarians and STEM programs, an outside funding organization is needed to raise funds. The Peninsula Education Foundation has been successful in raising $3.4 million last year to meet and support school programs. The strong PTA program also helps support and enrich school delivery systems.
